Last week during NYSAR's Fall Business Meetings in Verona, NY, NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun presented his New York State housing market and economic forecast, Dawn M. Carpenter of Staten Island, NY was named REALTOR of the Year, and the NYSAR Board of Directors allocated funds for the NYSAR Relief Fund in part to help New York State residents displaced from their homes due to Tropical Storms Irene and Lee. In a surprising upset, Republican Candidate Bob Turner defeated Democrat David Weprin in New York's 9th Congressional District race. New York Congressional District 9 was formerly held by Congressman Anthony Weiner and has not been held by a Republican since 1922. Don't get caught without flood insurance; tell Congress to reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program immediately. Without reauthorization, homebuyers will be left without flood insurance beginning October 1! Click here to take action.

RPAC
The record-breaking, sold-out "REALTORS Got Talent" event, held during the Fall Business Meetings in Verona, NY, raised $20,000 for RPAC, a 33-percent increase over our previous event! Click here to learn more.
 
NYSAR must receive all contributions to RPAC by Friday, October 7, leaving RPAC of NY less than one month to reach its 2011 fundraising goal of $763,530. To date, RPAC of NY has raised $486,085, which is 64 percent of the 2011 goal. We still have to raise more than $277,000 and we need your help! Click here for more information.
