According to the latest poll by the Siena Research Institute (SRI), New York State consumer home buying plans were down 0.1 points to 5.6 percent in June. Overall, New York State consumer confidence decreased 2.1 points. Click here to learn more.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
On June 29, 2012, the Senate and House passed the Flood Insurance Reform Act, bringing certainty to real estate transactions in more than 21,000 communities nationwide where flood insurance is required for a mortgage. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced last week that the Legislature is expected to return before the end of the year to prevent a scheduled tax increase for hundreds of thousands of owners of co-ops and condominiums in New York City. Click here to learn more.
