At the recent AGC of America board meeting it was reported that General Contractor membership is up from 6.422 in 2014 to 6,596 currently. There is also 8,755 Specialty Contractor members and 10,913 members in the Service and Supply category. AGC’s Workforce Development Plan, adopted in January of 2014 is in full swing working with federal, state and local officials to take steps to make it easier for schools, associations and firms to establish construction focused training programs. They are pushing legislation including comprehensive Immigration Reform while also actively pursuing and tracking a lengthy list of industry relevant legislation. In addition, the AGC is helping chapters build and launch "Build (your state)" Construction Recruitment websites. The AGC will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2018!
