Regulations Amending the Energy Efficiency Regulations, aimed at introducing or updating energy standards, testing standards and reporting requirements, were published in Part I of the Canada Gazette on October 20, 2018.
On October 16, the CPA met with senior staff from the office of Minister of Transportation John Yakabuski to discuss the propane industry’s issues linked to the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O., 1990 (load restrictions).
On October 11, 2018, the CPA put forth, on behalf of the propane industry, a submission to the Ontario government on its proposed Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018 (EBR Registry Number 013-3738).
Over the last several months, the CPA consulted with committees and members across the country on the adoption of Reliable Propane. The objective of adopting a commitment statement is to improve risk management performance and to elevate public perception about the safety and responsibility of the propane industry.
The CPA holds a number of Equivalency Certificates on behalf of its members and are available on the CPA website. The terms and conditions of each Equivalency Certificate must be adhered to at all times.
Transport Canada (TC) is seeking feedback on the potential introduction of new fees for its Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Means of Containment Facilities Registration Program, which ensures that all Means of Containment used in transporting dangerous goods are designed, manufactured, certified, repaired and maintained according to safety standards referenced in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations.
