On May 2, 2019, eight Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) staff and over 30 members of the CPA attended a successful demonstration of the newest auto propane fuelling technology in Whitby, Ontario.
Transport Canada has updated Equivalency Certificate SU 11248 (Ren. 5). The previous Equivalency Certificate is hereby revoked and superseded by the new Equivalency Certificate.
Since 2008, Ontario Regulation 211/01 has required Risk and Safety Management Plans (RSMPs) for all Ontario propane facilities that are a retail outlet, filling plant, cardlock/keylock, private outlet or container refill centre.
The CPA considers the proposed amendment to exempt individuals who refuel propane-powered vehicles at cardlock/keylock facilities and private outlets from the requirement to hold a propane plant operator certificate or record of training an important first step.

The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) has released the drafts of the updated safety standards CSA B620, CSA B621 and CSA B622 for a 60-day consultation period. Deadline to provide feedback June 11, 2019.
