IIE/San Francisco and the
IIE Center for Women’s Leadership Initiatives hosted the third Fulbright Minds panel on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 to coincide with celebrating International Education Week. Fulbright Minds is a unique initiative sponsored by IIE’s Board of Trustees and comprised of a series of panels that showcases the knowledge, expertise, and ongoing research and activities of select Fulbright alumni. The discussion focused on building the pipeline of girls and women in STEM and was moderated by Natalie Villalobos, Head of Women TechMakers at Google.
Kelly Day, mathematics teacher at Westfield Washington Schools in Indiana, represented the
Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program on the panel. Afterwards, she expressed that she was "proud to be a voice for teachers in this very important discussion about how we can encourage more women in the STEM professions." In addition to Kelly, alumni from the
Fulbright Student and
Fulbright Scholar Programs and the
Humphrey Fellowship Program participated as panelists.
