Adopting the Gold Medal Mindset

Dear KCMPI Members and Friends,
One night this past July, I was watching the 2012 Summer Olympics and desperately trying to get the number in my email inbox below three digits. Among thouse hundreds of emails there might have been one or two or fifty about KCMPI. Emails about upcoming events, board meeting, the membership directory, the next issue of the KCMPI Times, the audit report, fundraising ideas and so much more. I felt amazed at what our chapter accomplishes.
As I took a break to watch yet another gold meda awarded to a talented and dedicated athlete, I could not help but think about our very own talented and dedicated KCMPI volunteers. While it would be easy to compare some of what we do with KCMPI to some of the Olympic sports - hurdling over obstacles, diving into changing times, running marathons for each event and every CMP credit - it is more important that we compare those dedicated, driven and talented gold medalist to our very own dedicated, drive and talented KCMPI volunteers....our gold medalists!
So, although the Olympics are over for now, there is a lot we can emulate from these amazing athletes. No Olympian has ever medaled in an event they did not love and our KCMPI gold medalists are no different. Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something!
Please congratulate these gold medalists for doing something, for making KCMPI their chapter and for loving what we do!
