Dear KCMPI Members,
Recently, you received an email from me with updates on our chapter and important information on who to contact for various committees. I will send out these updates periodically to keep you informed and up to date on the chapter activities. In case you missed this email, I have asked the newsletter committee to reprint it as this month’s "Letter from the President". It’s full of great information that I don’t want you to miss out on!
Fall is upon us! The temps are starting to become a bit cooler and kids are back in school. It will be the holidays before we know it. I wanted to take a quick moment to share some thoughts and updates with you on our chapter.
We are off to a great start this fiscal year! You should have received the new KCMPI membership directory in your mailbox this month; it is full of colorful ads, helpful industry and organizational information and most importantly great contacts. Remember to keep your MPI profile listing and contact information up-to-date! The directory team and MPI members use this information frequently, so visit your profile today in the MPI website to make sure your information is correct.
The KCMPI event calendar is jam packed with education, social and community service opportunities. We have a lot of great programs coming up this year – our signature event, Field 2 Table was in September! In addition, we have some great partnerships in the works for future events. Our chapter is planning to team up with other local industry associations to plan a spectacular holiday reception and the PEC and golf committees are rocking with plans for 2011. Visit our chapter website to check out the latest list of programs and events for our chapter. Want to help with the planning of an education or social event? Contact Jill Quinn, Director of Leadership to get involved in a committee!
In addition to programs, the fundraising team is making plans for concert calendar for our Levy Booth at the Sprint Center for the remainder of 2010 concert series, so if you have a particular band in mind – contact Fundraising Chairs Shari Hockenbery, CMP or Lynne Fleenor today! Don’t have one in mind, that’s ok, they are always looking for a few good men, or women, to help out!
On the membership front, we recently awarded three membership renewal scholarships to some very deserving members. Congratulations to Deb Arbo, Andrea Foulkes and Andrea Heldt Coates for being selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants! Didn’t apply for one? Never fear! There are still several scholarships remaining, contact Scholarship Chair, Sue Heley, CMP for more details!
Looking to sponsor a KCMPI event or make a donation to the chapter? Contact Kara Brady, Director Strategic Alliance to discuss the many opportunities for investment that our chapter has available.
Thank you for your continued support of KCMPI! I look forward to seeing you at the next event!
Warmest Regards,
Michelle Lizak, CMP
