RealtyTrac: New York State annual, fourth quarter and December 2010 total foreclosures decrease; state ranks among lowest in nation

In its Year-End 2010 U.S. Foreclosure Market Report, which reports default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions, RealtyTrac, Inc. reported New York State annual, fourth quarter and December 2010 total foreclosures had decreased. A total of 43,913 foreclosures were filed in New York State during 2010, a decrease of 12.82 percent from 2009. New York ranked 42nd of all 50 states for total foreclosure filings.
