U.S. Commerce Department: Housing starts and building permits show significant increase in March

Privately-owned housing starts in March were at a seasonally adjusted rate of 115,000 for the Northeast, up 30.7 percent from February, according to data released by the U.S. Commerce Department.Building permits for the Northeast in March rose 33.3 percent to 136,000.
