Builder confidence in the market for newly-built,
single-family homes rose for a fourth consecutive month in September to a level
of 59 on the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/Wells Fargo Housing
Market Index (HMI). This latest four-point gain brings the index to its highest
reading since November of 2005.
Builder confidence also rose across every region
of the country in September. The Northeast posted a three-point gain to 41. To
