RealtyTrac: New York State October 2014 total foreclosure fall from September, rise from year-ago levels

In its U.S. Foreclosure Market Report for October 2014, RealtyTrac Inc. reported that New York State had 4,196 total foreclosures, a 3.21-percent decrease from September, but a 12.16-percent increase from October 2013. New York State ranks 29 out of all 50 states for monthly total foreclosure filings. One in every 1,931 housing units in New York State received a foreclosure filing in October.
