The state budget process continues to move forward. Late
last week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the Legislature announced agreement on a
revenue forecast that is $200 million above the original Executive Budget
estimate.
Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli issued his review of
the governor’s Executive Budget amendments. His analysis questions the
governor’s decision to insert policy matters into appropriations bills.
Meanwhile, the state Senate and Assembly are finalizing their respective
one-house budget bills. The bills may be available soon as both houses are
expected to approve their respective one-house budgets by Thursday, March 12,
which should be followed by the commencement of the budget conference committee
process. |
