Governor Cuomo announces election law reform package

Gov. Andrew Cuomo introduced a program bill last week that reforms the Election Law to increase voter participation and encourage new leaders to run for elected office. The legislation aims to: simplify the ballot process; allow sixteen and seventeen-year-olds to pre-register to vote; expand access to the ballot for new candidates; expand the time period for voter registration; and allow greater flexibility for affidavit ballots to be counted.
