Gov. Andrew Cuomo was sworn in on January 1, 2015 for his
second term in office as New York State’s 56th governor. He and Lieutenant
Governor Kathy Hochul delivered inaugural speeches outlining a broad agenda for
the governor’s second term including education reform, raising the minimum
wage, and decreasing poverty around the state. The governor also stressed the
need to enact the full 10-point Women’s Equality Agenda, expand economic
development opportunities in upstate regions, and undertake sweeping reforms to
New York’s criminal justice system.
The governor is expected to expand upon his
policy agenda during his 5th State of the State address on January 21, 2015.
