State's legislative session ends

The 2016 legislative session in Albany came to a close very early on Saturday morning. Members of both houses of the Legislature returned home after reaching agreements on several high profile issues including foreclosed homes and bank owned properties, testing drinking water in schools, and several bills to address the opioid/heroin epidemic. In the final week of the legislative session, NYSAR had two of its priorities, NY First Home and coop transparency, pass the state Senate, but ultimately they did not reach the Assembly floor for a vote. NYSAR will be educating lawmakers regarding these two issues in the off-session as we will be seeking passage of both proposals once again in 2017.
