The results of this most
recent report are based on the responses of 122 North American farm equipment
dealers representing a combined annual revenues of roughly $4.7 billion.
Highlights from the November Dealer Sentiment report include:
- Ag
equipment dealers report year-over-year sales grew 4 percent,
inline with the September results.
- Shortline
dealers once again saw the highest
growth at 12 percent, while AGCO dealers had the weakest sales at down 1 percent.
- A net 8 percent
of dealers categorize their new inventory as "too high" (24 percent too high; 59 percent about right; 16 percent too low) vs. 14 percent last month. This is
the third straight month new equipment inventories among dealers are too
high following a period of 12 straight months of new inventory being
"comfortable" or "too low."
- Incoming
orders grew 1 percent on average in October, similar
to last month.
Ag Equipment Intelligence and the Cleveland Research Co.
conduct this monthly survey of North American dealers to provide a "snapshot"
of their current sentiments and to keep industry professionals up to date on
significant trends in the farm machinery industry. This survey was conducted
during the last two weeks of November and reflects dealer sentiment at that
time.
