ASABE to Develop Standard For Drawbar Hitch-Pin Testing

ST JOSEPH, MICHIGAN— The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has initiated a project to revise ANSI/ASABE S625, Pin Dimensions and Requirements for Towed Equipment.

The purpose of the revision is to make technical and editorial corrections. These include a revision to values found in Table 1, Drawbar Pin Dimensions and editorial corrections.

ANSI/ASABE S625 establishes the dimensional and minimum-strength requirements for agricultural drawbar hitch pins used in the single-point attaching of towed equipment to tractors or other towing equipment.

ASABE is recognized worldwide as a standards developing organization for food, agricultural, and biological systems, with more than 250 standards currently in publication. Conformance to ASABE standards is voluntary, except where required by state, provincial, or other governmental requirements, and the documents are developed by consensus in accordance with procedures approved by the American National Standards Institute.
