On June 18, Ray Malinowksi was appointed as the new Chairman of the AMC Board. His participation started in 1973 when AMC was know as PIMA (Prairie Implement Manufacturers Association.
He served on the PIMA Legislative Committee in 1973, and was elected as President of PIMA in 1977. In November 1978, Ray, along with Ross Giles of Degelman Industries and the PIMA General Manager, visited Ottawa to urge Finance and Excise Tax officials to completely revise the out-of-date Excise Tax classification system as it related to farm equipment.
Although it took two years, the visit did prove worthwhile. Ray served on the PIMA Board from 1977 to 1981. In 2005, Ray was again elected to the PIMA Board of Directors. In 2007, the PIMA membership requested that we change the name of the Association to Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada (AMC).
In 2010, he was elected to the Executive position of third Vice-Chairman; 2011, moved to second Vice-Chairman; 2012, he was first Vice Chairman; and in June 2013, he was elected as Chairman of the AMC Board of Directors. AMC's mission is "To foster and promote the growth and development of the agricultural equipment manufacturing industry in Canada," and since 1973, Ray has volunteered his time and effort with (PIMA) and now AMC to further our mission.
