KPMG Private Company Seminar Series: Cyber Security and Other Current Information Technology Risks - February 23, 2016

From Facebook to hackers to mobile devices, technology is entrenched in how organizations operate. As technology use increases throughout organizations, the need to understand the risks these technologies present also increases. A lack of understanding of these issues can leave your organization vulnerable to financial or reputational damage which can critically impact your organization.

Jeff McMurray will be discussing IT Cyber Security and Current IT Risks including:
  • Technical Vulnerabilities – how these can impact your business
  • Social Media – how social media can impact your company's reputation
  • Cloud computing/Outsourcing – what to look for if you are looking at vendors for your IT services
  •  Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) – what information is on management and employee mobile and laptop devices?
  •  Cyber Security – Penetration testing is a method of managing cyber security risk. Most penetration tests only identify vulnerabilities and do not examine them properly which can lead to unidentified issues. We will explain the differences in testing and how it impacts your business.
This breakfast session, presented by Jeff McMurray, will be offering insights into the potential benefits and challenges of security testing.
