Strengthening the Canadian Agriculture Equipment Manufacturing Industry Across Canada – AMC Welcomes HSBC Bank Canada
January 30, 2017: The Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada (AMC) is
pleased to announce a new corporate partnership with HSBC Bank Canada
that takes effect immediately. HSBC Bank Canada joins Farm Credit
Canada (FCC), Aon Risk Management, Supreme Basics and Glacier FarmMedia
as one of AMC’s corporate partners.
Under the leadership of president, Leah Olson, AMC has a new strategic
plan that focuses the organization on advocacy and increasing knowledge
about the important economic contributions of agriculture equipment
manufacturers across Canada. In 2015, Canadian agriculture equipment
manufacturers exported just over $1.8 billion worth of implements to
more than 150 countries. Key markets included the United States,
Australia, Russia, Kazakhstan and Germany.
With a growing number of members, AMC collaborates with corporate
partners to provide ongoing support, services and programs that help
members’ businesses grow.
"Having a corporate partner like HSBC Bank Canada whose business is
global provides a great opportunity for agriculture equipment
manufacturers across Canada to have exposure to experts not just in
Canada, but worldwide. More than 80% of our members export making this
partnership a win-win," said Olson. "Our mission is to grow the Canadian
agriculture equipment manufacturing and with HSBC as one of our
corporate partners, we are confident this can be done."
"Through our research, we know that companies that do business
internationally grow faster than those with strictly domestic
businesses, and AMC has a long-standing history of working with
companies to grow their businesses internationally," adds Frank Venturo,
Senior Vice President & Head of Commercial Banking, Ontario &
Atlantic Region at HSBC Bank Canada. "We are extremely pleased to be a
corporate partner with AMC and look forward to working with them and
their members."

AMC was happy to sponsor and again work with the
Manitoba government regarding its Agri-Marketing Centre during the Manitoba Ag
Days in Brandon.
Celebrating its 40th year, the 2017
Manitoba Ag Days Show had more than 550 exhibitors and 45,000-50,000
attendees. Similar to 2016, AMC President, Leah Olson, spoke
Thursday morning about the $1.8 billion in agriculture implements that were
exported to 154 countries in 2015. She provided insight into how the agricultural
equipment manufacturing industry is evolving and AMC’s 2017 priorities to
support and enhance growth. You can access Leah’s presentation here.
The breakfast forum was and continues to be a
great opportunity for AMC to provide insight into its activities for the
upcoming year and speak with members. As such, AMC will sponsor the event
again in 2018 and we encourage members to take advantage of the semi-private
space as well as the breakfast forums during which you can obtain a hot breakfast
and cup of coffee while listening to speakers before the show kicks off at
9am.
Other beneficial services offered in the Agri-Marketing Center
include:
- Internet
Cafe with Free Wifi
- Trade
resources – directories, sector/market profiles, export reports, financial
programs, and export training
- 2
breakfast export forums (Wednesday and Thursday) during the show

business lounge and hospitality support
- Venue
for international visitors, as well as other industry focus groups
On January 23, AMC
president Leah Olson presented an overview of AMC and our industry to
approximately 100 dealers and members of the Canada East Equipment Dealers’
Association. Leah highlighted how shortline manufacturers are evolving
and sought input on the top 5-10 dealer concerns published in the 2017 Dealer
Business Outlook & Trends forecast. Road safety was identified
as an issue of mutual interest in Ontario and it was agreed that the two
associations’ members will work together to proactively address concerns.
CEEDA members were invited to attend AMC’s inaugural expo: "Ontario – A
Leader in Agricultural Equipment Manufacturing" happening April 21 at the Delta
Hotel in Guelph, Ontario. The provincial advisory committee in Ontario
will be working on the road safety issue in the coming weeks.
