Everyone's a Winner at the 2016 Rental Rally Trade Show

The doors opened at 10 a.m. yesterday at the Cashman Center in Las Vegas and the two-day trade show kicked off. There's no question that with twice as much floor space as last year's show and nearly 300 exhibitors, attendees of the 2016 West Coast Rental Rally hit the jackpot. The latest products, services and solutions were on display for all rental industry professionals to see. From dance floors to compact equipment, from GPS tracking systems to tables and chairs, from trailers to digital marketing services ... if it impacts the industry, you'll see it at Cashman. The buzz around the show floor was positive. Attendees were pleased with the increase in exhibitor numbers and vendors had significant traffic. Day two at Cashman begins at 9 a.m. CRA provides a convenient shuttle service from the Westgate which picks up attendees at the East Tower entrance of the hotel.

Education Seminars a Sure Bet in Vegas

Tuesday, January 26, was a full day of seminars sponsored by CRA, MATRA (Mid-Atlantic Tent Renters Association Inc.) and SAIA (Scaffold & Access Industry Association). 8:30 am – 10:30 am: Understanding, focusing and implementing a strategy for your business growth. Tom Garrity, a certified coach with Gazelles International (Mastering the Rockefeller Habits), conducted a two-hour workshop that delivered tips on developing business direction, growth, financial success, and a business legacy. 10:45 am – 12:00 pm: Secrets to Social Media Success. Leah Sadowski, the owner of LMS Agency Inc., a San Diego-based multi-platform boutique agency that specializes in digital marketing and social media, presented a session on innovative marketing solutions. The session included common mistakes in today’s social media arena, how to leverage different social strategies while generating buzz and creating brand awareness. 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm: Permits and Codes. Jim Erickson, Las Vegas Fire Marshall, discussed permits and codes, current code proposals, and establishing relationships with building officials in a panel discussion about common problems in these areas. 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm: Scaffold User Hazard Awareness Training. This class was designed to help the scaffold user recognize the hazards on various types of scaffold. The presentation explored a number of hazards to which the end-user could be exposed and helps them identify and rectify these situations. 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm: Tent Installation Session: Basic Tenting, Site Survey, Frame Tent Installation. This session included classroom instruction and hands-on training with a frame tent. It also included a review of tent styles and sizes, tent terminology, tent safety, surveying sites, and learning about the latest techniques for safe tent installation. 3:15 pm – 4:30 pm: Why Search Engine Optimization Is So Important. Speaker Rick Simmons, Simmons On Line Solutions, a digital marketing advisor, described how the way people buy products and services has changed dramatically, but the way things are sold still lags behind. Rick discussed websites and what is important to make them perform to peak possibilities, including search engine optimization.

CRA Members Meet and Greet Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley At the Opening Cocktail Party last night, CRA presented its annual awards. Steve Soares of Wirant Sales, Inc. received the W.E. "Bud" Loeber Friendship Award and Patricia Sarris of A Party Center/Easy Rentals received the James Gartland Memorial Award. The association also recognized retiring officers and board members for their service to the association. Special guests, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis, entertained the crowd. Rental Rally attendees took advantage of this festive occasion to visit with friends and network with business associates.

SHUTTLE BUS INFORMATION

The shuttle bus stop at the Westgate Hotel is located at the end of the East Tower Wing. Look for the Rental Rally Bus Sign. Round trip shuttle service between the Westgate Hotel and Cashman Center will be available: Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, 8 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Shuttle service for Wednesday evening's CRA Crawl will be running continuously between the Westgate Hotel and the LinQ from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. AWP shuttle will depart the Westgate Hotel Thursday at 8:30 a.m. and the return will be with the Ahern Store tour buses across the street at 5 p.m. Ahern Tour shuttle will depart the Cashmen Center Thursday at 2 p.m. and run continuously between Ahern's and the Westgate HOtel until approximately 5 p.m.
