Education
What does the future hold? We're all most often concerned with major trends that impact our work. Which trends you face are of course dependent on your current situation, and our situations in higher education are "fluid" to say the least. I was recently challenged to identify the major trends we see at CCBO for community colleges and higher education. 1. Financial models are changing. With changes in federal, state, local, auxiliary, endowment and tuition models, all methods of increasing revenues and/or formula funding are under scrutiny. In an environment where "raiding the bank" is happening more often, we need to explore consistent funding models for the future.

Ithaca, N.Y.—More and more two-year institutions are turning to integrated solutions from The CBORD Group, Inc., the leading provider of campus card and integrated security solutions to colleges and universities. These schools have increased student services, reduced operating costs and improved campus safety by implementing CBORD solutions. Georgia Perimeter College (GPC) started its one-card program on just one of its six campuses more than 10 years ago. Since 1998, the college has produced more than 185,000 ID cards and has seen a 375 percent sales increase at the college’s bookstores. Today, the "JCard Office" supports six bookstores, five food service locations, five ID offices, has nearly 250 point-of-sale card readers, more than 350 access card readers and more than 1,800 security alarms.
