FREE UPCOMING WEBINAR: THIS IS HOW PEOPLE DIE 11 AM PT | 12 PM MT | 1 PM CT | 2 PM ET
For many, death is scary and difficult to discuss. We bring our fears, our childhood experiences with death, our culture, our belief systems, and our stereotypes to the bedside of the dying and the dead. Generally, none of those ideas accurately explain how people die. This webinar will analyze the fear of death as it relates to our social norms, identify signs of approaching death from disease, and explain the process of dying from disease vs. dying by happenstance.
PARTICIPANTS IN THIS WEB SEMINAR WILL BE ABLE TO:
- Explore their personal beliefs concerning death.
- Neutralize the fear of dying.
- Utilize tools for working with patients and families faced with a life-threatening illness.
Barbara Karnes, RN, is the former Director of Olathe Medical Center’s Hospice and Home Health departments, and is the author of “Gone From My Sight,” “My Friend, I Care,” “A Time to Live,” “The Eleventh Hour,” “Pain at End of Life,” “How Do I Know You?” and “The Final Act of Living.”
