The study found that for the first time since 1997, domestic auto brands, collectively, have surpassed import brands as a whole in vehicle appeal. Domestic brands have been improving steadily in vehicle appeal during the past four years, with the greatest improvement occurring between 2008 and 2010.

Nearly 65 percent of respondents responded "not likely" to purchase a plug-in electric vehicle, and the majority of respondents prefer a hybrid vehicle over plug-in hybrids and plug-in electrics according to a survey by Donlen.

General Motors has finalized the production process for its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans, allowing the company to deliver fleet customers complete vehicles with a fully integrated and dedicated CNG fuel system starting this fall.

Compact Power, Inc. (CPI), a subsidiary of LG Chem, will build lithium-ion battery packs for the Ford Focus Electric, which will go on sale in the U.S. in 2011.
