Similar to OEM advisory boards, NAFA’s CFAC will be a feedback and input mechanism for corporate fleet managers in NAFA. The CFAC will be a sounding board for corporate fleet managers to comment on and help direct NAFA’s activities as well as identify opportunities for NAFA to improve service and value to corporate fleet managers.

Glaiber was the former Assistant Director of the General Services Administration (GSA) for Miami-Dade County. He passed away July 29 at the age of 64. Among Glaiber's key accomplishments was being the creator of the innovative fleet replacement trust fund for government fleets. Glaiber was a long-time leader in championing this vehicle funding method.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the lineup of 2011 model year passenger vehicles that will receive new safety ratings under the agency’s revamped and updated 5-star safety ratings program. The vehicles we are announcing will be the first ones tested under the Department’s tougher, more rigorous 5-star ratings program.

Ford and Nissan are debuting systems aimed at preventing motor vehicle crashes. Ford’s new system, Automatic Braking Intersection Collision Avoidance System (ABICAS), uses wireless and GPS technologies to help vehicles communicate with each other in traffic. Nissan’s "Forward Collision Avoidance Assist Concept" uses highly a sensitive radar sensor to monitor the distance from the vehicle in front and its relative speed.

Because of improper casting of the steering lock bar, which is a component of the steering interlock system, there is a possibility that a minute crack may develop on the surface. Such a crack may expand over a long period of repeated lock and unlock operations, and eventually the lock bar could break.

Chrysler Canada announced total sales of 22,319 for the month of July, an increase of 40 percent compared with July 2009. This figure represents the best results for the month of July since 1997. Two of the top three selling nameplates in the country are Chrysler Canada vehicles – the Dodge Grand Caravan (#2) and the Ram Pickup (#3).

Power and Associates, the decline in overall customer satisfaction in 2010 is largely attributable to declining satisfaction with price, which has decreased by more than 30 index points compared with 2009.
