The Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) designation is the industry standard for fleet knowledge, requiring intense study in fleet management’s eight disciplines. A huge recall is about to commence by the big four Japanese automobile makers of approximately 3.4 million vehicles due to defective airbags. All the airbags were purchased from the same manufacturer, Takata Corp., the world’s second-largest supplier of airbags and seatbelts.

On April 29, AAA urged Illinois legislators to vote "no on SB 2356," which would increase the speed limit to 70 mph on Illinois' roadways. The bill has already passed through the Illinois Senate and awaits a full vote by the Illinois House.

The NJ Clean Energy Innovation Council (NJCEIC) held an alternative transportation fuels workshop on May 1 at the Rutgers EcoComplex in Bordentown, NJ. GE Capital Fleet Services announced on April 16 an agreement with vehicle history service Carfax to develop real-time reporting for fleet managers detailing safety recalls not yet performed on vehicles within their fleets.
