Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the hottest topic in the construction industry and for good reason. Architects use BIM tools and process to deliver better designs; engineers use BIM to ensure designs meet codes and performance benchmarks. The agcXML project team is pleased to announce that on March 4, 2014 at 10 – 11:30 a.m. there will be a live demo of an RFI transaction process using agcXML schema. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience this data exchange and be a part of the conversation on what AGC is doing to advance construction technology through the development of open standards and ease of data exchange in our industry.

A new 4-dimensional augmented reality system overlays photos captured at a jobsite onto a building information model integrated with scheduling information to automatically display a large-scale construction project’s progress graphically — green for ahead of schedule, red for behind.

Q: We are starting a pilot project for tablets in the field. We have three iPads with Broadband deployed already using Citrix-published applications and so far they are working well. Getting ready to use HCSS Heavyjob Mobile as well.
