On June 29, AAFA submitted a request to provide additional testimony for the second tranche of the Administration's proposed tariffs on U.S. imports from China for the July 2018 hearings.

AAFA urges rewrite of California port drayage trucker legislation: On June 28, AAFA sent a letter to California Senator Ricardo Lara expressing serious concerns with SB 1402, Senator Lara’s port drayage trucker legislation. If approved, as currently written, the legislation would create immense uncertainty for the industry, putting thousands of well-paying California apparel and footwear, port, and distribution center jobs at risk.

Concerns in Nicaragua: On June 29, AAFA joined with several other organizations and brands in a letter to President Daniel Ortega Saavedra expressing concerns with the ongoing political and social crisis in Nicaragua.
