Deeper Dive: With 226 attendees, 70 vendors, and an impressive $80,128 raised for AAHOA PAC, this was the perfect way to close out the 2024 Hotel Owners Conferences & Trade Shows.
Thank you to the esteemed panelists who took part in the special Q&A Panel – Rep. Tom Leek, Sen. Debbie Mayfield, Rep. Ryan Chamberlin (R-D24), Rep. Chase Tramont (R-D30), and Ormond Beach Mayor Bill Partington. We also welcomed guest speaker Andy Palmer, Partner at Metz, Husband & Daughton (MHD).

What Happened: AAHOA wrapped up its final Charity Golf Tournament in style. Held in Daytona Beach at the beautiful LPGA, the North and South Florida Regions came together under the leadership of Regional Directors Jayesh (Jay) Patel and Chetan (Chris) Patel, along with the dedicated Ambassadors of the regions.
Deeper Dive: With 90 golfers and 12 sponsors, AAHOA raised nearly $76,000 for the AAHOA Charitable Foundation.

Giving Back: Additionally, Lina recently traveled to Nepal in partnership with Red Roof Inn and the AAHOA Charitable Foundation, making a meaningful impact at Hillary School, one of the highest-altitude schools in Nepal. Lina and her team delivered backpacks filled with educational supplies to the children and teachers who will benefit from them for years to come. Despite a customs hurdle, the AAHOA Charitable Foundation stepped in with a letter to ensure the backpacks reached the students safely.

Some experts are prediction the incoming administration will prioritize the passage of pro-business legislation while simultaneously lowering tax rates, both of which, in tandem, could provide a boost to the hospitality industry.

As Truist Securities wrote, “Overall U.S. RevPAR was -3.5% y/y for the week ending 11/9/2024, per STR/CoStar, below the prior week's result of +3.1% y/y and below the trailing 10-week average of +1.5%. As expected, there was soft business travel (particularly Group) during election week. Group RevPAR was -14.5% y/y last week which comps against what is normally a decent group week of early November. Some corporate offices were closed in anticipation of potential uncertainty around election results/protests. RevPAR declines were pronounced on Monday and Tuesday of around -13% to -14% y/y. Hoteliers expect recovering business travel for the rest of 4Q ex-holidays. Upscale RevPAR: -5.8% y/y; Upper Midscale RevPAR: -1.2% y/y.”
