SunTrust Robinson Humphrey wrote, “Overall U.S. RevPAR was -2.4% Y/Y for the week ending 9/8/2018, per STR, worse than the prior week's result of +4.6%. Independent hotels (about 1/3rd of the data set) were +1.7% y/y. Luxury (+1.1%) was the 'strongest' chain scale for branded hotels; Midscale was the weakest at (-7.3%).
