The My Place Hotels Convention at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego will feature AAHOA Chairman Hitesh (H.P.) Patel during its General Session All-Star Panel on April 24. The event is April 23-April 25 and runs in partial concurrence with the 2019 AAHOA Convention in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. On closing night of its event, My Place will partner with AAHOA to co-host a Young Professional Hoteliers Reception at the My Place Convention and to welcome My Place owners to #AAHOACON19.

SunTrust Robinson Humphrey reports, “Last week's results were largely reflective of an easy holiday comp and was somewhat better than we expected, given the non-holiday week in 2019 vs. the Good Friday/Easter/Passover holidays that started on the weekend of March 30, 2018. The only chain scale that was negative was Luxury (-8.9%). As expected given the holiday shift, Group RevPAR was very strong at +37.1%. The group and business oriented chain scales outperformed, led by Upper Upscale (again as expected).”

The hotel industry has made a concerted effort to enact sustainability practices, such as saving water and recommending that guests reuse their linens. "Going green" has become a mainstream practice, so much so that 87 percent of travelers said they'd like to travel sustainably, according to Booking.com's Sustainable Travel Report.
