AAHOA News

AAHOA Members came together at the New Horizon Event Center in Jackson, Mississippi, to donate more than 2,000 cases of water in response to the ongoing water shortage crisis. AAHOA also donated $2,500 toward the cause. We applaud the generosity of our members and the fantastic effort of the team that organized the initiative - an incredible impact was made over the weekend, and we are extremely proud to have members who did not hesitate to give aid to a struggling community.

Here is a GoFundMe link if you would like to donate to help the people of Jackson.

Regionals season is still in full swing! Next week, we have not one, but TWO regionals on the calendar. On September 13, the Mid Atlantic Regional Conference & Trade Show is taking place in Cherry Hill, NJ, at the Doubletree by Hilton Cherry Hill/Philadelphia. Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive their certificate for BEST Inhospitable to Human Trafficking Training, Sponsored by AAHOA, onsite - so don't miss your chance to receive this state-mandated training for free.

On September 15, the Washington DC Area Regional Conference & Trade Show is happening in Arlington, VA, at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel. An incredible lineup of political leaders will be speaking at this regional, and several current AAHOA Women Board Members will be participating in an ElevateHER Fireside Chat.

Both of these regionals are shaping up to be incredible opportunities to network and connect with local hoteliers and industry partners, while also learning about the latest AAHOA news and updates. For more information about our regionals and to see the schedule for the rest of the year, click here.

The Lodging Conference is taking place during September 19-22 at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge. All AAHOA Officers, along with President & CEO Laura Lee Blake, will be panelists during the speaker sessions.

AAHOA is extremely proud that our leadership has the chance to share their personal industry insights and experiences at such an important, well-known industry event. For more information on The Lodging Conference and to see the agenda, click here.

The Employee Retention Credit has been one of the most beneficial tax credits available to hotels that have been financially impacted by COVID-19. Due to various updates and changes to the legislation, there remain many misconceptions about business eligibility, which has resulted in an underutilization of this tax credit.

If you think you don't qualify, it's time to take a second look. You can claim up to $26k per employee.
