The widespread damage of Hurricane Ian is severe, but no one comes together after an emergency the way Florida's hospitality industry comes together. The AAHOA community stands with everyone who has been impacted by Hurricane Ian, so please do not hesitate to reach out to the team of Florida Ambassadors, as well as your regional director.
Because of the extensive damage, and to better AAHOA's ability to help, we have created this survey for all Florida members with hotel property damage so AAHOA can better determine next steps and provide assistance.
As the recovery efforts continue, please be aware of some of the following:

AAHOA's Charity Golf Tournament is, without a doubt, one of the most exciting and impactful ways hundreds of hoteliers give back to their communities. This year alone, AAHOA raised a total of $333,529 for 18 charities across the U.S.
Some of those charities focus on helping kids beat cancer, feeding hardworking families, promoting the rich Indian culture and heritage, and so much more! The charity golf tournament series kicked off in May, and went on over the course of the summer. Whether you could join us for one tournament, or multiple tournaments, this video showcases AAHOA's commitment to advancing our mission through community engagement.
WATCH the video today as we highlight one of the many charities we raised money for, Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities, and see why members, industry partners, and vendors continuously show up for friendly rounds of competitive golf, networking, and raising money for incredible local charities year after year.

Truist Securities reports, “Last week’s RevPAR was up against a +74.9% comparable result in 2021 vs. +75.4% in the prior week. On a 3-year run-rate (vs. 2019), RevPAR was +12.8 vs. +12.9% in the prior week’s 3-year run-rate. Upscale RevPAR: +25.6% y/y and +5.3% over 3 years; Upper Midscale RevPAR: +15.7% y/y and +13.4% over 3 years. There was a holiday shift in 2022 (Yom Kippur in the middle of the week) vs. 2021 with no similar holiday. Normally, such a holiday falling midweek is a negative for business and Group travel, but surprisingly that was not the case this year. Group business at +48.9% y/y was particularly strong. We surmise that results were helped by lapping the Delta variant at this time last year and perhaps reflective of the many groups that had not met prior to the pandemic. Whatever the exact cause, this was a good result. There was no holiday shift vs. 2019.” For more, read the full report here, and read the China/Europe report here.
