AAHOACON24 Update

After more than a year of planning, AAHOACON24 is almost here. We can't wait to gather again for this industry-leading event.

In just seven days, AAHOA Members, exhibitors, media, family, and more will convene in Orlando for the biggest and best industry event of the year to build on the momentum we created last year in Los Angeles and help shape the industry for years to come.

This year marks AAHOA's 35th anniversary, and AAHOACON24 is the perfect occasion to celebrate three-and-a-half decades of AAHOA history, leadership, and continuing influence in the industry at large.

For more than 30 years, hotel owners have found at AAHOA the inspiration, insight, and network they need to help their businesses reach their full potential. Given the challenges hoteliers face in today's economy, these elements are more important than ever, which is why we're all looking forward to seeing one another in Orlando next week.

Here’s to an amazing convention where we can reconnect with old friends, make new connections, get a better picture of the issues affecting us all, and move forward together.

Tuesday education sessions – new for AAHOACON24: By popular demand, we're offering more education sessions than ever this year, starting earlier than ever on the first full day of AAHOACON24, Tuesday, April 2. Be sure to join us for three amazing opportunities, including an in-depth Commercial Strategy certification class, an exhaustive exploration of all things relevant to the independent hotelier, and a crash course on P&L management, offered in collaboration with HerOwnership.

Be sure to check out the current education schedule to plan out your week and take full advantage of everything AAHOACON24 has to offer.

First-Person Perspectives

Can you feel the excitement? We can! And many of your colleagues feel the same way. Here are a few quick thoughts from a couple of past attendees who all are counting the minutes until this year’s installment of AAHOACON kicks off:

"AAHOACON23 was one of the best I've been to. The trade show was packed with people, and the parties were amazing. The fireworks and the drone show were fantastic as well. I hope all future AAHOACONS are similar to this."  –  Tanmay Patel, AAHOA Young Professional Director Western Division

"AAHOACON23 was absolutely high energy. I saw small groups of people everywhere, and they were all having business conversations and making deals. This is the place to be, if you want to be part of a hotel ownership."  – Lina Patel, AAHOA Former Women Hoteliers Director Eastern Division (2017-2023)

Convention Highlights

In 2021, 80 percent of the sex trafficking cases reported in the United States involved a victim who was exploited at a hotel. But there is something hoteliers can do to help stop human trafficking. Attend one of our free human trafficking prevention training sessions offered at AAHOACON24.

BEST's Inhospitable to Human Trafficking Awareness training, sponsored by AAHOA, is an effective tool that enhances hotel safety. Human trafficking has devastating effects on its victims and poses significant safety risks to guests and employees. Additionally, it can leave businesses exposed to substantial legal and financial liabilities. By training yourself and your staff, you can gain the knowledge needed to help prevent human trafficking at your hotel and get certified in human trafficking prevention!

AAHOACON24 is hosting two sessions of this training:

  • Wednesday, April 3, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 4, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Your session facilitator, Violeta Vega, is the Senior Program Manager for Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking. She will help you learn how to spot the indicators of human trafficking in hotels so you can safely report it. This can help survivors get connected to the resources they need to rebuild their lives and keep your community safe from the crime of human trafficking.
