Pardon our excitement, but our hearts are racing in anticipation as we’re officially one week away from a day we’ve had circled on our calendars for quite some time – the beginning of AAHOACON23.
In just seven days, AAHOA Members, exhibitors, media, family, and more will descend on Los Angeles for the biggest and best industry event of the year to build on the momentum we created last year in Baltimore and help shape the industry for years to come.
For more than 30 years, hotel owners have found at AAHOACON the inspiration, insight, and network they need to help their businesses reach their full potential. Given the challenges hoteliers face in today's economy, these elements are more important than ever, which is why we're all looking forward to seeing one another in Los Angeles next week.
Here’s to an amazing convention where we can reconnect with old friends, make new connections, get a better picture of the issues affecting us all, and move forward together.
Share your excitement about attending AAHOACON23 by documenting your travels to and from – and experience during – the event and tagging AAHOA on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram using the hashtag #AAHOACON23. There's no better way to let the world know what a great time you're having.
We'll include some of our favorite posts in the daily newsletter we'll send out next week and on the big screens before General Session each day, so have fun with it!
Can you feel the excitement? We can! And many of your colleagues feel the same way. Here are a few quick thoughts from a couple of past attendees who all are counting the minutes until this year’s installment of AAHOACON kicks off:
“AAHOACON22 in Baltimore, MD, was one of the best conventions I’ve attended. AAHOA opens many doors for young professionals like me who want to pursue their dreams to take everything to the next level.” – Armaan Patel. AAHOA Member, AAHOA’s Outstanding Young Professional of the Year, 2022
“I’ve been attending AAHOACON for several years, and the Trade Show has always been very helpful in finding numerous vendors that we actually do use. Our hotels are in a great place thanks to the interaction with the multiples vendors that we find at the convention. It's wonderful for us.” Kenan Desai, AAHOA Member
Have you registered for AAHOACON23? It's not too late, and we'd love to welcome you to the Los Angeles Convention Center for a week of education, networking, entertainment, and much more.
Throughout the week, we'll be building on the momentum we created last year in Baltimore. Last year's event proved there is nothing quite like gathering in person with friends old and new to network, learn, get inspired, and make deals on the Trade Show floor.

We encourage you to wear your favorite team jersey. There will be spectacular fireworks, an epic drone show, local food trucks, DJs, tailgating games, and much more.
If you’re bored in LA, you may want to check yourself for a pulse. The city has pretty much everything under the sun – and plenty of sun, too – including museums, studio tours, TV tapings, abundant hiking trails, theme parks, historical landmarks, a world-renowned observatory, and so much more. Here are a few quick highlights, but for an exhaustive list of what the city has to offer, be sure to check out Discover Los Angeles.
The Hollywood Sign Sure, it’s touristy, but can you really say you’ve been to the motion picture capital of the world without seeing the sign? There are plenty of other attractions nearby, but this one is 100% free!
Beverly Hills This world-famous ZIP code is home to some of the planet’s most famous inhabitants, features some jaw-dropping mansions, as well as plenty of shopping and some pretty amazing people watching.
Echo Park Take in a game at Dodger stadium, discover some of the best views in the city by way of the Baxter Street Stairs, gawk at the late-1800s Victorian houses on Carroll Avenue, catch a live band at The Echo + Echoplex, or grab some amazing food at any one of this neighborhood’s amazing eateries.
Sightseeing With so many productions being headquartered in LA, the place where your favorite movie, TV, or music video was filmed is likely just a stone’s throw away at any given moment. Thanks to the internet, it’s absurdly easy to hunt down Doc Brown’s house from Back to the Future, Michael Myers’ neighborhood from Halloween, the observatory seen in Rebel Without a Cause and The Terminator, the hotel from Pretty Woman, the city streets of Chinatown, and countless others.
AAHOA would like to thank all our valued sponsors for their support, partnership, and participation at AAHOACON23! You are a vital part of making this event possible. We couldn’t do it without you.
Attendees can expect to receive an in-depth printed guide to walk them through the ins and outs of AAHOACON23. In tandem with the official AAHOACON23 app, the printed guide is the best way to navigate this massive event. We're putting finishing touches on everything now, but the show guide also will be available in a digital format once AAHOACON23 kicks off one week from today.
For now, though, here's a sneak peek at the front cover. We can't wait for you to see how great the rest of it looks.
