Lamar University has teamed up with waterfront industry professionals to offer courses in port management that lead to a Master of Science in Port and Terminal Management or certifications specializing in port management. During this year’s AAPA Convention in New Orleans, the University and the Association signed an agreement that enables port professionals certified in AAPA’s Professional Port Manager (PPM®) program to earn up to six credit hours in the university’s fully online, graduate degree programs in port management. Mr. Stromberg is a former AAPA president who also served 10 years as chief executive of the North Carolina State Ports Authority.
