Port of Vancouver USA receives seventh consecutive clean audit

The Port of Vancouver USA recently received its seventh consecutive clean audit from the Washington State Auditor’s Office (SAO). No deficiencies were found in the latest audit, which covered the calendar year 2016.

"It takes the dedication of every single person that comes to work at the port to maintain this high level of integrity," said port CEO Julianna Marler. "It’s evident that our staff cares deeply about accountability and compliance, and I couldn’t be more proud of the entire Port of Vancouver team."

The SAO audits ports across Washington state each year, examining a range of programs and processes.
At the Port of Vancouver, the SAO focused on marine terminal revenue, cash receipts, procurement and contract compliance, disbursements, promotional hosting and payroll in 2016.

"The Governmental Accounting Standards Board works hard to ensure transparency, access and accuracy in financial reporting," said Scott Goodrich, the port’s director of finance and accounting. "This is the second year in a row government organizations have been faced with more reporting standards from GASB, and as demonstrated by our audit, we continue to meet and exceed those standards."
