Make plans now to attend AAPA's Port Security Seminar and Exhibition, July 19-21, at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile Hotel in Chicago (IL).
An outstanding program has been developed by the AAPA Security Committee and its chairman, Joe Lawless of the Massachusetts Port Authority, for what will be the association's 17th security seminar since May 2001. Last year's seminar drew a large and enthusiastic audience; this year's promises to be equally engaging.
The agenda was organized with the objective of stimulating a fruitful exchange of views and concerns between ports and federal agencies on key port security issues. Among the panel themes are:
• Drone Aircraft Operations
• Public Space Vulnerabilities
• Cybersecurity in the Marine Environment
• Port Security Grants
• Homeland Security Investigations
• Security Regulatory Updates
Also planned are security briefings by the Coast Guard and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and regulatory updates on key port security issues. Among the invited speakers is U.S. Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelley.
Tabletop exhibits on Thursday, July 20, and event sponsorships afford excellent opportunities to draw the attention of top port industry security officials to your company’s products and services. Speaker slots have been set aside for vendor presentations. To learn more, contact Ed O’Connell at (703) 706-4709 or eoconnell@aapa-ports.org.
Hotel Reservations: A block of rooms has been reserved at InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile Hotel. To secure accommodations, call the hotel directly at (312) 944-4100.
