Port Corpus Christi Selects Hires for Director of Operations and Financial Controller
The Port of Corpus Christi Authority has filled two senior staff positions with the appointments of Kresten Cook as director of operations and Kent Britton as financial controller.
Kresten Cook brings experience and knowledge of operations from his many years at the world’s largest helicopter repair facility, the Corpus Christi Army Depot. Mr. Cook joined the depot as an industrial engineer, and subsequently served as chief of business development, director of engineering services, and finally as deputy to the commander. As the depot’s senior-most civilian executive, Mr. Cook was responsible for a $1.0 billion work load, a 2.3-million-square foot facility, and roughly 5,400 employees.
Mr. Cook holds a master’s in strategic studies from the United States Army War College; an MBA from Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi, and a BS in industrial engineering from the University of Houston. He is involved in numerous community organizations and advisory boards.
As financial controller, Kent Britton occupies a newly created position at the port. His professional background includes trader and controller positions at aluminum giant Alcoa; director and vice president designations at Blackbaud, Inc., a provider of software and services for not for profit organizations; and chief financial officer for the Sherwin Alumina Company. He is a certified public accountant and holds a BS in industrial management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
