2M Alliance Brings Northern European Service to Port Everglades
Port Everglades gained access to a Northern European ocean-shipping route via the 2M Alliance starting August 16, 2017. The alliance is a vessel sharing agreement between Maersk Line and Mediterranean Shipping Co.
Five U.S.-flag Maersk vessels are deployed in the new "TA1/NEUATL1" service rotation: Antwerp, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Norfolk, Port Everglades, Houston, Norfolk and back to Antwerp..
"This Northern European service further diversifies the fleet and services that call at Port Everglades, and generates additional opportunities for international trade to and from South Florida," said Jim Pyburn, the port’s director of business development.
