APA corporate members are invited to nominate individuals for consideration as AAPA's 2019 Port Person(s) of the Year. The deadline for nominations is Friday, December 14, 2018. Depending on the individual or individuals selected, the award(s) may be presented either at the 2019 Spring Conference, March 19-20, in Washington, DC, or during the AAPA Annual Convention, October 13-16, hosted by the Port of Virginia.
One or more awards are made in recognition of individuals whose outstanding work has made a significant contribution to public ports and/or maritime commerce either internationally or within a country or region. Generally, nominees are not members of the public port community itself, but friends and allies (active members of the Association are not eligible). The formal criteria for eligibility and judging are available on AAPA’s website (scroll to the bottom of the page).
AAPA corporate members may nominate an individual for this award. Please provide at least one paragraph on each of the three judging criteria listed. Nominations should be submitted by email to Susan Monteverde at smonteverde@aapa-ports.org no later than Friday, December 14, 2018. Selection of those receiving the honor for 2019 will be made by the AAPA Executive Committee at its winter meeting in January.
