Port Freeport (TX) Welcomes Names New Business and Economic Development Director
Jason Miura has joined the Port Freeport staff as director of business and economic development. He brings to the position ten years of experience in the maritime shipping industry, marine logistics and project management, most recently as commercial manager for Signet Maritime Corporation. Earlier, he held the positions of manager, chartering and business development, and assistant manager, commercial, at Signet and before that, line manager for Caribbean Feeder Services.
Mr. Miura earned a BBA from the University of Houston with a concentration in finance and completed the Export-Import Theory, Practices and Procedures course at Kingwood College. He also holds certificates from the Association of Ship Brokers and Agents in commercial trade transactions, maritime law for shipbrokers and agents and ship brokering and chartered vessel operations.
