Nominate a Port Industry Advocate for AAPA's Port Person of the Year Award
AAPA corporate members are invited to nominate individuals for consideration as AAPA's 2016 Port Person(s) of the Year. Depending on the individual or individuals selected, the award(s) may be presented either at the 2016 Spring Conference, April 5-6, in Washington, DC; during the AAPA Annual Convention, October 23-26, hosted by the Port of New Orleans; or during the Latin American Congress to be held in December, 2016 in Mérida, México.
One or more awards are made in recognition of individuals whose outstanding work has made a significant contribution to public ports and/or maritime commerce either internationally or within a country or region. Generally, nominees are not members of the public port community itself, but friends and allies (active members of the Association are not eligible). The formal criteria for eligibility and judging are available on AAPA’s website.
AAPA corporate members may nominate an individual for this award. Please provide at least one paragraph on each of the three judging criteria listed. Nominations should be submitted to Jean Godwin at AAPA Headquarters (703-684-5700) no later than Friday, January 8, 2016. If you wish, you may e-mail your nomination to her at jgodwin@aapa-ports.org. Selection of those receiving the honor for 2016 will be made by the AAPA Executive Committee at its winter meeting in late January.
