North Carolina National Guard Training Exercise at the Ports of Wilmington and Port of Morehead City

The North Carolina National Guard (NCNG) utilized North Carolina State Ports Authority facilities in Wilmington and Morehead City to test the emergency response capabilities of local, state and federal agencies.

The drill involved the use of military, emergency response and law enforcement vehicles as well as military helicopters and uniformed National Guard troops.

The NCNG worked with ports authority security, the NC Emergency Management Eastern Branch, Brunswick County Emergency Management, New Hanover County Emergency Management, the New Hanover County Sherriff’s Office, the Wilmington Police Department and the State Crime Lab during the 8-day exercise that ended June 21.
