AAPA Infrastructure Spending Survey Underway

In late November, AAPA embarked on a survey to compile a 5-year “look-ahead” of what U.S. ports and their private-sector partners plan to spend for infrastructure through 2025. Previous 5-year forecasts were for the period 2012-2016 and for 2016-2020.

Titled the 2021-2025 Port Planned Infrastructure Investment Survey, the cumulative results – from both AAPA member and non-member U.S. ports and their private-sector partners – will be used to advocate for increased federal investments in connecting infrastructure to ports, and in direct infrastructure grants for ports.

AAPA also uses the planned infrastructure investment numbers to showcase to current and prospective AAPA Sustaining members, as well as current and prospective event sponsors, the large amounts ports and their partners are planning to spend for facility improvements and expansions.

If your port hasn’t done so already, please complete the survey this week. The results help AAPA advocate for more federal port-related infrastructure investments and grants, and help attract new Sustaining members and event sponsors to keep down registration costs for AAPA education and training programs.
