UPDATE 36: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces full restoration of Baltimore's Fort McHenry Federal Channel
As part of the Unified Command response to the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Navy Supervisor of Salvage and Diving today restored the Fort McHenry Federal Channel to its original operational dimensions of 700 feet wide and 50 feet deep for commercial maritime transit through the Port of Baltimore.

UPDATE 34: Multimedia Release: Unified Command salvage crews successfully remove final steel truss blocking the Fort McHenry Federal Channel
Salvage crews in Baltimore successfully removed the final large steel truss segment blocking the Fort McHenry Federal Channel, ten weeks after the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Using various techniques including concrete breakers and underwater surveys, they cleared tons of debris to restore the channel to a width of 700 feet and a depth of 50 feet, enabling access for deep-draft commercial vessels to the Port of Baltimore. Full restoration of the channel is expected by June 8-10.
