The RFI invites industry input, particularly from vessel operators and marine terminal operators, to inform potential future actions without disclosing specific customer or partner details. Responses are requested within a 60-day period.

The Fort Carroll Temporary Alternate Channel near Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge has been opened by the Unified Command to increase the Port of Baltimore's vessel traffic capacity. This new channel, which has a 20-foot depth, 300-foot horizontal, and 135-foot vertical clearance, is expected to restore about 15% of the port's commercial activity pre-collapse. Strict safety protocols remain in place with a 2,000-yard safety zone around the bridge and entry by permission only from the Captain of the Port.

The Port of Edmonds will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of their new administration and maintenance building on Friday, April 26 at 11:00 AM, located at 471 Admiral Way, Edmonds. This event celebrates a key milestone in the Port’s multiyear development plan, including the expansion of the public Portwalk and seawall reconstruction. One year after signing the MOU to create a Green and Digital Shipping Corridor, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Port of Los Angeles, and Port of Long Beach have released a study forecasting economic growth, enhanced community health, and increased green jobs as key benefits of decarbonizing shipping routes.
Commissioned by C40 Cities, the ports, and conducted by the American Bureau of Shipping, the study provides a comprehensive forecast of maritime trade and the shift to zero- and near-zero emission fuels by 2050. The collaboration, marking significant progress since the corridor’s strategy debut at the UN Climate Change Conference in 2023, continues to strengthen with industry engagement aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and digitalizing maritime operations.
