The San Francisco Port Commission has unanimously approved a rent relief program aimed at supporting crab and salmon processors facing economic challenges exacerbated by environmental and pandemic-related factors. The program will halve monthly lease rents from May 15 to October 15, 2024, benefiting approximately 17 commercial processors at the Port. At the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) Board meeting, President and CEO Griff Lynch reported a slight decline in container volumes for fiscal year 2024, handling 5.25 million TEUs, down 2.3 percent from the previous year. Despite this, GPA achieved record Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) cargo volumes, with a 21 percent increase to 876,000 units.
