PhilaPort received its first shipment of Chilean grapes under the innovative Systems Approach at the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal on December 18, 2024. This method allows 35% of Chilean grapes to enter the U.S. without fumigation, ensuring higher-quality fruit while reducing chemical use in the supply chain. In 2023, over 200,000 tons of Chilean grapes, valued at $5.2 million, arrived through Greater Philadelphia marine terminals. The new approach is expected to enhance the efficiency of grape imports and strengthen U.S.-Chile trade relations. PhilaPort partners, including Holt Logistics and representatives from the Chilean and American Chambers of Commerce, celebrated this milestone.
